Intercession

You are Mine

CCC: 311 “One of the most tremendous marvels of the economy of divine grace is the intimate solidarity of all people through the Mystical Body of Christ. God accepts the suffering offered to him by a soul in grace for the salvation of another soul or for sinners in general. It is impossible to measure the redemptive power of suffering offered to divine justice with a living faith and an ardent love through the wounds of Christ. When everything else fails there is still recourse to suffering to obtain the salvation of a sinful soul.

“We should not wish for anything but what comes to us from moment to moment…
we have done what good we can,
let us accept all that happens to us by Our Lord’s ordinance,
and let us unite ourselves to it by our will.
Who tastes what it is to rest in union with God
will seem to himself to have won to Paradise even in this life.”
(Saint Catherine of Genoa)

Is the Lord calling you to the Office of Intercession?

…………

Intercessors “stand in the breach,” (Ez ekiel 22:30),
between God and the sins of humanity,
making up in their bodies
what is lacking in the sufferings of Christ
for the sake of His Body, the Church”
(Col ossians1:24)

WHAT  IS  INTERCESSORY  PRAYER?

Intercessory prayer is not the prayer of petition.

Intercessory Prayer requires an investment in, and cooperation with,
God’s saving work – His plan of salvation.

WHAT IS AN INTERCESSOR?

Intercessors are unique witnesses to the invisible
who walk on a path that is not their own
with those for whom they intercede,
paying a debt they did not incur,
making visible, by their joy,
the Great Mystery of the Divine Order of the Mercy of God.

………………

An intercessor turns suffering into conscious, willed,  determined and joyful SACRIFICE.

“According to Catholic doctrine, the justified man can merit for other people the first actual grace of justification. Since a man in the state of grace fulfills the will of God it is fitting in harmony with friendship, that God should fulfill the will of that man in regard to the salvation of another person even though there may sometimes be an impediment on the part of the man whose justification the holy man desires”

(Summa Theologica 1a2ae, 114,6,  Thomas Aquinas)

“Behold the Lamb of God
who takes away the sin of the world!”

The Lamb of God

“Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows.”
(Isaiah 53:4)

Our Lady of Sorrows

Through the intercession of Mary, let us say, with Jesus,
“The Father, who dwells in me, is doing His works!”
(John 14:10)

Receive O Lord all my liberty
my memory my understanding
and my entire will.
Whatsoever You have given to me
I give it back to You.
I surrender it to be governed wholly by Your will.
Give me only Your Love and Your grace
Having these, I am rich enough
and need nothing more

Saint Ignatius of Loyola

What  is   the  Charism  of  Intercession ?

Those who live out the charism of intercession
participate in the redemptive mission of Christ
seeking to become one with Him ~ the Lamb of God ~
for the salvation of souls.
We remember that, as lambs, we are carried always in the arms of the Lord
….
He will feed his flock like a shepherd,
He will gather the lambs in his arms, he will carry them in His bosom.
(Isaiah 40:11)

Eternal Life

The primary goal of the charism of intercession
is the evangelization of the world and salvation of souls.

The Fellowship of the Lamb works to raise up more intercessors who will bear the fruit of intercession.

Living a lifestyle of intercession by offering our sufferings,  as conscious, willed and deliberate sacrifice,  we strive to witness to the world by a life lived in union with Christ for the salvation of souls.

In this silent witness, rooted in contemplative prayer, we strive to remain open to God’s love, to be healed, purified and transformed by Jesus, the Lamb of God, so that with Him and in Him and through Him, we can lay down our lives for the salvation of souls.

We remember that it is only by receiving God’s love that we are empowered to become sacrificial lambs, living the redemptive lifestyle of intercession and offering our sufferings in union with the Lamb of God for salvation of souls.

.

“Blessed are the pure of heart!  They shall see God!”
(Matthew 5:8)

.

As we strive for sinlessnes we become more filled with love.  As this happens, we become able to see as He sees and to do, as Mary has shown us is possible,  whatever He tells us.

.

In time, our life-style becomes a witness to the Promise of God.  Our own intimacy with the Lord, through self-surrendering love, speaks to the heart of those around us.  Our own lived experience serves as a bridge of prayer, reconciliation and communion between God and man, as we stand in the gap between mankind and our Creator.

Through our participation in the Apostleship of Suffering Love, we pray
…that all will come into transforming union with the Lamb and bear the fruit of intercession every day, raising the spiritual life of the Church and renewing it from within.

….that we may take part in the ministry of intercession in a most profound and powerful way.

….that we may raise up and support more and more intercessors , who join their sufferings
with those of the Lamb of God,
and hope for healing and sanctification
as we prepare the Bride for the Wedding Feast of the Lamb.
